Armi Helena Kuusela

Let's go back...way back...to where it all began. 1952 was the year that the Summer Olympic Games were held in Helsinki, Finland, and it was a lovely young Finnish beauty from the city of Muhos, who won the very first Miss Universe title on June 28 of that year.

"But wait!" you say. "Hold it right there! Why does her banner say 1953?" you ask. Well, dear reader, it's true: the Miss Universe title was post-dated between 1952 and 1958. A little-known fact, and something which current records put out by Miss Universe don't take into account. Interestingly enough, Miss International did the same between 1960 and 1965!

Here's Armi Helena Kuusela...47 years later, she's still quite the charmer!
