Miss Africa South Titleholders

As African, Asian and bi-racial girls were not permitted to compete in the Miss South Africa contest, the Miss Africa South contest was organised to elect a South African contestant from the aforementioned racial groups for the Miss World pageant. The contest was as controversial in South Africa as it was in the rest of the world, with the winner often being ostracised by the local African, Asian and bi-racial communities and labelled a "traitor".
